- Ubis Extruder Mount for Type A Series 1 (laser cut)We needed to replace the hot end for RockIT CoLab’s Type A Series 1 machine. I had a 1.75mm Ubis hot end available so I designed a bracket to mount it to the X Carriage. I modeled the bracket size and screw holes using photo references of the original hot end. I cut the Extruder cavity using a Ubis hot end found on GrabCAD and scaled it to 1.05 to adjust the tolerances. To finish the model, I reproduced RockIT’s logo on the face.
- KnitFit- Hat Knitting Machine prototypeI am working on a project to make an open source pedal powered knitting machine. My goal is to build a few functioning prototypes and collect yarn donations to make free knit hats for anyone willing to pedal the machine to make one. This design is based in part on the sock knotting machines that gained wide spread use in the early 20th century. I would like to make it mostly with repurposed and 3d printed materials. As always, I am new to building and modeling, so suggestions and collaborations are accepted and requested. Thanks. More photos as I continue desigining.
- Small box for earplugsA small box that will hold earplugs on your keychain. This is to help folks who travel or attend loud functions often have them when they need them. The pivot point would be made from plastic filament melted on the ends to make a rivet. This is the first version to be made as a proof of concept and more creative designs to come later.
