In this webinar, our Fusion 360 specialist Harv Saund will be generating a concept sofa. He will move from the initial concept through to production by generating some of the frame elements and then running a test on a portion of the frame to see if it’s strong enough to support the weight of three people. Once the simulation is complete, we will render the sofa in a scene and create toolpaths for 3d printing and traditional subtractive manufacture on portions of the frame. This will take us from an initial concept design all the way through to production, giving us the ability to demonstrate 3D modelling, T splines or freeform design, Simulation, Rendering and Manufacturing. Join our webinar to get an introduction to Fusion 360 and its capabilities. The webinar is intended to give an overview of Fusion 360, from the ground up talking through the interface, basic modelling techniques, creating drawings, rendering images, animation, simulation and manufacturing output. The webinar is intended for completely new users to Fusion 360 and also 3D design. About the Presenters: Harv Saund, Fusion Technical Sales Specialist at Autodesk

Fusion 360 - Gelenke und Kinematik-Untersuchungen
Germany

Germany

Welcome to the first Future of Hardware Meetup! Our topic this time is Tools: desktop machines, generative design software, IoT, or even manufacturing services. We’re always looking for guest speakers to share their work and bring everyone up to speed on tools to help propel their business. (Reach out if you'd like to be a guest speaker!) We’ll also be taking a look at Shape Optimization, one of the latest features in Fusion 360, and a very handy tool for optimizing your designs. Here’s the lineup: Curt Chan, Fusion 360 Evangelist, Autodesk We make software for people who make things. Fusion 360 is the first 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE tool of its kind. It connects your entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform that works on both Mac and PC. Brett Turnage, Owner of BTi BTi specializes in 3D Printed R/C Bikes and Cars, leveraging his Printrbot and Othermill Pro in his fabrication process. Brett is also a Writer for Hot Rod Magazine. Andrew McEwen, FARO Technologies 3D Scanning has been around for decades, but it’s just starting to see widespread adoption. From video games to historical preservation, the applications are endless. For this presentation, we’ll focus on and reverse engineering applications. Philippe Lewicki, AfterNow Multifaceted entrepreneur Philippe Lewicki has lived through the rise and fall of many tech products and startups, and over the past 20 years has fine tuned his instincts for what tech will matter next. In 2014, his verve for augmented and virtual reality inspired him to create the HTML Fusion lab, a research space exploring the possibilities for mixed reality accessible to all, which soon became mixed reality company AfterNow. ___________________________ As always, food and drinks will be provided, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Christchurch, New Zealand

Christchurch, New Zealand

As a bit of a recap of a previous session, but with a new twist, the plan for this one is to create a freeform character in Fusion 360 and 3D print it. The difference this time is we are going to design it in a way that will allow us to connect a machined part on to the bottom in a future session. So it's really Part 1 of 2, of a hopefully interesting workflow. If you haven't seen or used the freeform modelling tools in Fusion 360, check out some of these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPpbaKqTS2c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD7HBFlIFMM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRwdzwYd5iU Create some shapes to share with the group, and we'll discuss freeform modelling techniques. If you have a 3D printer, you can get some nice looking parts using these surfaces. Don't worry if you've never used Fusion 360 before. The freeform stuff is easy to get started with. If you have your own reasonably powerful laptop, it'd be awesome if you could bring it with you to work on. Even more points for you, if you install Fusion 360 and create an Autodesk ID before the session. Start with the trial download here: http://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview

Hey there San Diego Area Fusion 360 Users! We're partnering with the popular San Diego Hardware Hackers Group this time around, to learn about the exciting plans between Cadsoft Eagle and Fusion 360. Recently Autodesk announced the acquisition of Cadsoft Eagle Software, and we'll be sharing workflows around the current state of both pieces of software, plus how you can leverage their current connections. Today’s design engineers are facing unprecedented change and challenges as the products we design become more intelligent and more connected. The traditional means of increasing a product’s value is becoming less valid as the customer demands for new layers of connectivity and intelligence in their products increase. This presents a huge opportunity for us to re-think the way we do design. Engineers and designers working in the isolated silos of the past are becoming less and less productive.
